2020 Tree Planting: Lagos Island Local Government Boss Urges Residents to imbibe the Culture of Tree Planting.

Executive Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government Hon. Prince Tijani Adetoyese Olusi has urged the good people of Lagos Island and Lagosians to imbibe the culture of Tree planting in other to restore the dignity of Earth.

On the theme of the Event, “TREE FOR LIFE, IN HONOUR OF FALLING HEROES”, Tijani Adetoyese Olusi explained that ‘Tree is Life, because we all need Oxygen to survive.

This year’s exercise was put in place to tackle the effect of climate change, especially during this period of Covid-19 pandemic.

Hon. Tijani Adetoyese Olusi urged the people to follow the laid down rules in curbing this pandemic by maintaining social distance, washing of hands with soap and running water, use of sanitizer, and wearing of face mask.

The chairman, who was represented by the Vice Chairman Hon. Wadood Bashorun used the medium to comesurate the demised of our Heroes who died, during this pandemic, the loss is a painful one to us all.

The Event was held at the Marina Shipyard Lagos Island

To the Health workers who become victims in the course of their service, you are Heroes and will forever be remembered

The Vice Chairman of LILG Hon Wadood Bashorun performed the exercise in company of Hon. Moshood Olawale Eletu, Supervisor for Environment, Hon. Ladega Olorogun SLG to the Local Government, Hod of the Environment LILG, CDC Chairman Lagos Island Local Government among others present at the tree planting.
