FUNMILAYO AKANDE-MOHAMMED DISTRIBUTES CASH TO BENEFICIARIES IN APAPA IGANMU LCDA.

The ongoing conditional cash transfer (CCT) initiative also known as household uplifting program (HUP) that was launched in Lagos state last weekend continues today at the Apapa Iganmu Secretariat. Beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) have received N10,000 each for May and June.

The initiative was launched in Apapa Iganmu Lcda at the weekend and some was paid and others yet to be covered will receive theirs this week. The chairman of Apapa Iganmu Lcda, Hon Funmilayo Akande-Mohammed hailed the Federal Government, the Lagos State government and the Commissioner for Wealth Creation and employment, Hon. (Mrs). Yetunde Arobieke who facilitated this program through the National Social Safety Nets Coordinating Office, under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development and thank them for their support in the the cash transfer program in Lagos most importantly to the residents of Apapa Iganmu Lcda.

The Helmswoman who was at the People’s Council today was seen presenting cash to some residents of Apapa Iganmu Lcda who are majorly most vulnerable, aged, indigent and the poor who are identified through geographic and community-based targeting.

The said programme facilitated the transfer of N5,000 per month to the identified beneficiaries, noting that payment was made every two months to eligible households selected from the national social register.

She ended her remark by thanking all those who precipitated the enrollment, the Cash Transfer Office and all the manpower for their commitment and support in making the implementation a success.
