From the beginning of Endsars Protests up till this moment many Nigerians are still in shock most especially Lagosians because no one could ever imagine things can turn the other way round, nevertheless, all thanks still be unto God for keeping Nigerians together.

Alhaji Abdulazeez Adekunle Lawal popularly known and addressed as (Kunle Poly), want to sincerely and immensely from his heart in appealing to all Lagos Island Youths to give/rendered their massive support to the Lagos State Government and our traditional/monarch, especially; Your Highness Oba of Lagos- Oba Rilwan Aremu Osuolale Akiolu.

Who is an indigene of Lagos Island, I therefore preach peace, Unity and love among all Youths within Lagos Island,as this would make/allowed Lagos Government to promptly actualised the real goals and benefits meant for all Lagosians both in diaspora.

As a matter of fact; after seeing the aftermath of scenario called ENDSARS that really created serious havocs within the state and it’s environ I felt with a high sense of responsibility to address the teeming Youths of Lagos especially those vibrant ENDSARS Protesters to please calm down and bring every agitations that may causes further chaos to an end.

I also vet and disappointed with those youths who invaded the the Oba of Lagos’ place Oba Rilwan Aremu Osuolale Akiolu last Wednesday 21st of October 2020.

This acts is so insultive and hard to be accommodated as it’s disrespectful to the entire yourubaland.

However, I want to sincerely thank the Lagos State government for taken a proactive and prompt action, Kudos to Governor Sanwo-Olu for this bold steps taken so far.

He Kunle Poly would like to beseech every youth within Lagos to abide/ comply with the rules and regulations that was set aside to curb hoodlums amidst ENDSARS as it will makes the city of Lagos to be purified with sanity.

Dangote Urges Private Sector Players To Commit 1% Of All Profits To Fund Health

…To sponsor Bill to National Assembly
Chairman, Aliko Dangote Foundation and Africa’s biggest philanthropist, Aliko Dangote, has urged all operators in the private sector to commit one per cent of their profits to fund the health sector challenges in Nigeria, to enable the country tackle crisis like the coronavirus pandemic successfully.

Dangote noted that such an allocation, which would be a separate payment from the corporate tax usually paid to the government, would improve needed funding to boost the nation’s ailing health sector, as Nigeria continues to grapple with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. This, according to him, would help ensure that the vaccine for treating the pandemic gets to the end-users in the country and across Africa, through viable partnership and collaborations.
The renowned entrepreneur made these suggestions while responding to questions posed to him by a moderator Francine Lacqua during the virtual Bloomberg New Economic Forum (NEF), at a session titled, “Cross-Sector Mobilisation in Times of Crisis: Public Health Perspective.”

Other speakers alongside Dangote, who made their remarks at the Bloomberg NEF session hosted by the Dangote Group included, Founder and Chief Executive of Flagship Pioneering and Co-founder and Chairman of Moderna, Dr. Noubar Afeyan, and Co-founder and Chief Strategist at Partners in Health Care, Chair of the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School, USA, Dr. Paul Farmer.
Responding to a question from Lacqua on if funding was one of the main barriers to actually dealing with health crisis effectively, Dangote replied, “Yes, I agree with you. It is more to do with funding. Like what we are doing in Nigeria as a foundation (Aliko Dangote Foundation), we are trying to sponsor a bill to our Congress where we want them to impose a tax. This is a separate tax, not a corporate tax, of maybe about one per cent of all our profits, in the private sector, so that they will fund health.

“And I think it is the only way; we cannot just leave government alone. Government alone cannot fund health. So we the foundations, the private sector and then the government, we have to actually work together to make sure that we fund health. You know, it is a very, very important sector and without a healthy population, there is no way you have a healthy economy. And healthy youth, who make up a large percentage of our population, can make a difference.”
In his remarks on the COVID-19 pandemic and its ravaging impact on African health and economic sectors and the role played by the private sector, Dangote noted that, “for us here in Nigeria, mostly in Africa, the COVID-19 is really an eye-opener because we have two impacts. One is the human impact, the other one is the economy – which incidentally also impacts people directly.
In Africa, most of it is actually the economic impact, because what you have done at the beginning, is shut down all our activities, is shut down the airports. So when you look at the economic impact for us, it is huge. The health impact has not been as severe as in other places. As of today we have about 65,000 casesin Nigeria, and 1,165 deaths in a country of almost 200 million people”Each lost life is a tragedy, but the numbers here are not high  compared to populationBut because of the lockdowns a lot of people couldn’t really go out to earntheir livelihood. So what we did, is set up this Coalition against COVID-19 where I mobilised the private sector and we were able to raise the sum of $112 million dollars. And what we did was set up 39 isolation centers, ranging in size from  100 beds to 200 beds. We bought ventilators, oxygen machines, and all the required equipment to set up effective isolation centers.
After isolation centers and testing supplies, we knew people also needed to eat. The lockdowns interfered with their ability to work and afford money to eat. So we went out and bought food for 10 million people, which is five per cent of the population; thus people at the bottom of the pyramid equivalent to 1.7 million households. to reduce the effect of the lockdown”.
The renowned businessman, whose Dangote Group was recently rated as the most valuable company in Nigeria, played a key role in the eradication of polio in Nigeria, which led to the certification of Nigeria and Africa as polio-free on August 25 this year. He is also the founder of the Private-sector led Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID), which has raised N38 billion to support government efforts against the pandemic.

DATE: TUE, OCT 27, 2020.

It’s my pleasure to welcome you all to today’s press conference. In all circumstances, let’s give thanks and adoration to Almighty Allah. As a government that’s alive to her responsibility: You will agree with me that last week, in some part of Lagos State, it has been a tortuous week. As the number (1) citizen of this great local council development area and the Chief Security Officer, the onus is on me to safeguard, protect lives and properties of the residents of Apapa Iganmu LCDA.

I am highly committed to the warfare of my people. I have done everything humanly possible to ensure peace, tranquility and harmony in my community. Our divisional police unit both Orile, Amukoko and Badia were all given a patrol vehicle to aid and enhanced their performances in curbing crimes. Regular meetings with security heads on weekly basis, arrest of notorious hoodlums and nefarious cultist within our community, special patrol team assigned in settling dispute/tussles among members of the National Union of Roads Transport Workers {N.U.R.T.W}, curbing the menace of secret cult rivals and tanker drivers to ease gridlock within Apapa Iganmu LCDA.

Sometimes, I even motivate them, give incentives and jobs to engage them to reduced their nefarious activities. The ENDSARS protest which started peacefully was hijacked by miscreants hoodlum’s, armed thugs and street urchins in defiance to the curfew imposed by the Lagos State Governor, His Excellency. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. The current uprising which emanated from the peaceful protest plunging our state and our Local Government Development Area into wreckage and massive destruction.

Suspected armed thugs and hoodlums invaded the local government secretariat premises, broke the gate on October, Wednesday 21st, 2020 at about 12 Noon. All offices were vandalized, burgled and everything was stolen before they eventually set some part ablaze. Properties worth millions of naira were destroyed, we cannot count our losses for now. I am really aggrieved over the attacked on all state public building’s and facilities. The Amukoko police station was burnt and vandalized, the Orile police station was set ablaze, policemen was also injured and gruesomely killed in the process.

As the third tiers of government, we are the closest to the people at the grassroots, we are committed to keeping everyone safe. The video of the damages and when the arsonist were vandalizing and looting is there for all to see. On the day the vandalization took place, I received calls from all angles but unfortunately, the thugs was all armed and they overpowered some youths who tried to stop them from carrying out the heinous act.

Its is very sad indeed nothing could be save or Salvage, it has been a critically challenging phase for the entire nation. I condemned this wicked, detestable and reprehensive vicious attack unleashed on government properties. This is very pathetic as all of these are being funded by tax payers money. Some loses are irreparable. The grassroots LCDA was created to serve the community at large. I sympathise with the families, entrepreneurs, individuals and the local government/LCDA’s that suffers all kinds of loses, assets damages during this unfortunate crisis.

I thanks all those who made efforts to stop this miscreants. I was informed how some elderly Men and Women, Abled Youths and individuals fought so hard to make sure they curtail their nefarious act but it’s quite unfortunate that they were overpowered. I thank you all and I pray for more grace and enablement.

Lagos is our heritage, let all protect it. Together we can have a greater Lagos. Let’s caution our wards, Children’s, neighbours and friends to shun violence or else the long arm of the law will catches up with anyone found culprit.

Thank You And God Bless You All.
