GOtv Nigeria has unveiled BBNaija Lockdown edition winner, Olamilekan Agbeleshe popularly known as Laycon, as its latest brand ambassador at an event to launch MultiChoice’s festive season campaign for DStv and GOtv on Tuesday, 17 November.

The pop culture sensation who captivated hearts during his time in the BBNaija house and gained a huge fanbase will star in the brand’s festive campaign for the GOtv Jolli package as well kick-off a GOtv city tour starting this November in Abeokuta, Enugu, Uyo, Abuja and Lagos.

According to Martin Mabutho, Chief Customer Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, the decision to enlist Laycon as one of the faces for the brand was a perfect choice as both Laycon and GOtv are synonymous with creativity, passion and the ability to connect with audiences both young and old.

“Laycon’s rise to fame on the platform of the hugely popular BBNaija reality TV show is one story that will never get old. His talent fuelled by passion made him highly relatable and endeared him to many. We are excited to have him onboard and we look forward to a mutually rewarding experience,” said Mabutho.

In his response, a visibly elated Laycon said: “I am excited to join the GOtv Nigeria family. This is a good one for me and I feel honoured to be a part of this leading pay TV entertainment brand. Speaking on the GOtv’s festive season offer, Mabutho said: “Starting Saturday, 21 November, customers can get a GOtv decoder and antennae with one month on Jolli package at N8,400. As always, our commitment is to enrich the entertainment experiences of our valued customers and with something for everyone during the holiday season with GOtv.”

In addition, GOtv is ushering in the festive season with an exciting mix of programming for the entire family including, a line-up of festive movies, sporting action, kids’ entertainment and local content. Some of the festive content to look out for include: the Africa Magic Holiday Channel, with new seasons of Turn Up Friday with Pepsi and Infinix and Owambe Saturday with Goldberg plus a brand-new show, Jollof with Me sponsored by Cussons Carex and Morning Fresh.  Also, the biggest festivals such as the Calabar Carnival, The Experience (Global Edition), Festival of Champions and the Miss Africa pageant will make a grand return on the special Nigerian Festivals pop-up channel.

The Organised Process Of Goods Packaging In A Jumia business

Online shopping has redefined the way we make purchases with shopping and payment done through the internet. In most cases, the only time the customer has human interface is with the delivery agent when packages are delivered. However, a lot of manpower and activities go behind the scene to ensure orders are properly processed and items delivered in good condition. 

A tour led by Adetunji Lanase, Country Manager Jumia Nigeria into one of the biggest Jumia warehouses in Nigeria showed the process items pass through before they are delivered at the doorsteps of customers. From the entry point, it was easy to see that a Jumia warehouse is a place of organized activities.

Though divided into sections, the activities are all connected to produce quality service delivery to customers. Below is a glance through phases and activities in the packaging process:

Inbound area: This is the first section in the chain of goods packaging processing. Working with strict covid-19 guidelines which are maintained across the warehouse, this section receives items to be sold on the Jumia platform from sellers.

Staging area: Being the second phase in the process, this is the intermediate storage area for the items received from sellers. Here, the Jumia team ensures items are arranged and organized according to the warehouse number for easy pickup when orders are placed.

Outflow area: This section is the inventory location where the picker moves to pick the list of orders on queue and scans the items. The item is processed and prepared for packaging before being shipped to the next section in the chain.

Outbound hub: Items need to be protected for the transportation process. While doing this, the impact of packaging is considered by the Jumia team. Here, the team on ground inspects items approved for delivery to ensure they are in good condition. They label the items, and then create a master packaging bag to ensure the items are presented to meet the customer’s aesthetics taste.

Network Hub: The packages are brought to this section for sortation according to the region/destination of the packed items.

Verification: Here the packages are scanned and readied for dispatch. The security team on ground verifies necessary documents before loading the items into the dispatch van.

From this point, packages are handled by the dispatcher who ensures they remain intact and are delivered at the appropriate destination

Verdant Zeal Wins 1st AAAN President Cup FIFA Tournament

The Association of Advertising Agencies Nigeria (AAAN) just concluded its first
President’s Cup Football FIFA Tournament. The tournament which started on
Tuesday, February 16th ended on Friday, February 26th held at the AAAN
Secretariat and was streamed live on the AAAN social media platforms.

According to the Chairman of the Events Planning Committee, Mr. Doyin
Adewumi, fifteen (15) agencies participated in the competition for the grand
prize of two hundred thousand naira (N200,000), while the first and second
runners-up get N100,000 and N50,000 respectively.

After a gruelling match, the victory went to VD Team from Verdant Zeal who
beat Tequila Limited; 5 – 2, becoming the first agency to win the first ever
AAAN President’s Cup Football FIFA Tournament.

The President of the Association, Mr. Steve Babaeko during the presentation
of the cup noted that the purpose of the tournament was to bring young
practitioners together through a healthy competition as well as foster a
healthy rivalry and relationship amongst them.
